Meet Kathleen

Greetings human family! I'm Kathleen.

I'm a wife, mother, partner, herbal educator,

birthkeeper, and re-villager! I have 3 children spanning

age 8 to 22. My oldest was born in the hospital in Flint,

MI. After that experience I knew I would never birth in a

hospital again. My middle child was born

unintentionally unassisted at home, and my third was

born in the company of my loving midwives. I honestly

didn't even know they were there. Which is how it

should be. Through my births and my work I learned

that if invited into a birth space, one should disrupt that

space as little as possible. All women and birthing

people deserve to birth on their terms. This is the heart

of One Sovereign Family.

I am thrilled to work with

Sydney who knows first hand the world changing

experience of stepping into her birth power. It was a

true privilege to walk beside her and witness her

transformation. I encourage you to read her birth story.

I am committed to creating space and conversation for

women to explore what it means to be free on their

journey to motherhood, and to develop systems

together where new families can be re-sourced and

restored. I've been serving my communities in birth

and postpartum work for over 15 years.

My most recent education was learning from Rachelle Garcia Seliga,

founder of Innate Traditions, and I am now a Certified

Innate Postpartum Care Provider. In this training I

learned how to approach the postpartum time from a

place of wellness, and affirmed that the foundation of

true wellness is community. We need each other. In

birth. In postpartum. In life. I gratefully and

enthusiastically join in this growing movement to

reclaim birth and postpartum wellness with respect,

trust, and ceremony. It is my hope the One Sovereign

Family will become a village space for all families.
